Your elderly stage of life is an era to enjoy some snow of happiness, cherished with joyous memories of younger days! Efficiently spent younger days, immense success, earned through-out the adulthood and deeds collected ever since your birth, would definitely reward you towards the end of your life because you always get to reap what you sow!

With every tick of the clock and a page turned on the calendar, we face changes in our body as well as mind, which may or may not be visible at a glance. Wrinkles on your face and fragility of your bones might remind you how weak you are getting day by day but ‘NO’! That is where we go wrong. True that ageing is inevitable yet the years we spend on this particular process can be utilized in the most effective manner thus paving the way for a well satisfactory ‘winter of life’.

Inside our body there are several physiological and biochemical mechanisms, taking place as if it’s an Engine of a vehicle. This is how life is created from a tiny cell and advances to organs and systems to an individual. The quality of these structures and their function gradually decelerate over time when we eventually grow older and that is what we define as ageing.

Similarly, our memory, concentration, cognition and all the other brain functions will deteriorate up to a certain with ageing, where we might feel, pinned-still in the middle of nowhere.

But what about the joyful memories and other touchable and untouchable assets, we accumulate over these years? What about the satisfaction we have gained through spending time on piling up merits and engaging in good deeds?

Well, in certain scenarios due to various illnesses invading our body, we might actually forget what we have been doing throughout the life but what about our presence? What about the things we get to see now, at this very moment? How would we feel about those beautiful smiles on the faces of our children and grandchildren, all grown-up and become successful in life? That is where the beauty of ageing lies on!

We might reach a time of life where all our important life events have got faded, but what if we make our minds up to cherish and admire the life at present, where the right deeds would definitely be paid at the right time!

Nourishing this phenomenon of beautiful ageing, Kilroy J. Oldster, the famous author of ‘Dead Toad Scrolls’ once mentioned,

“No age of life is inglorious. Youth has its merits, but living to a ripe old age is the true statement of value. Aging is the road that we take to discern our character. Fame and fortune can elude us, but character is immortal. We must encounter a sufficient variety of experiences including both failures and accomplishments in order to gain nobility of character.”

Thus, what matters at the end of the day is not how old you are or how weak you are, but how successfully you have been spending the years of life, showering love and mustering happiness. That is why you should start from this moment itself-when you are young, strong and capable, to build up a life style which would be worth spending time on, before reaching the ‘Winter of life’ in the most cherishing and fulfilling way.
